One of our partners, Channel Islands Marine Science Academy, builds underwater robots and competes with other schools. So when I read that the keynote speaker for the Educating for Careers conference was Fredi Lajvardi, I was pretty excited. He brought high school students competing in underwater robotics competitions to national attention.
I believe it is so important to invest in young students, encouraging them to take ownership of their education and pursue excellence even if their community or the education system fails them.
You can read about Fredi and his students here.
