We creatives know:

Any given outing, book, bird or sunset can inspire us to create something new and awesome. We have made good practice of having journals or notebooks when we go out, but its not always practical. Well, practical has a new name and its Adobe Capture CC.

This app is so versatile and brings together some of our favorite apps that help us collect inspiration on the go. There are four parts to the app.

Adobe Kuler has made creating color palettes easy and fun. All you have to do is snap a photo, upload a photo or simply point you camera at something pretty and you are almost done. Once you have selected the area you want to capture, little drop pins show up on the screen and let you pick which areas of color you want to capture. Then you simply save your palette to a library. And dear friend, if you aren’t using Adobe Libraries as part of your work flow yet, its time.

Brushes

With the brushes tool, you can create unique brushes and send them to Illustrator and Photoshop with just a few clicks. You simply take a picture of something, whether it is a pattern, image or color that you want. It automatically makes a few strokes for you to choose from. You can edit them and choose which one is closest to what you are looking for. Then you can save it to a library. Making a brush has never been easier.

Shape

Have you ever seen a cool image while you’re shopping or out and about and hated to incorporate it into a design. Say you’re at a maritime museum and see a 200 year old anchor. It inspires you because you are really into nautical stuff. Well now all you have to do is take a picture of it and select the area you want to capture. Once you hit save, you have a vector image that you can save to a library and use in your designs.

Looks

Everyone’s a photographer and their main subject is sunsets. So all of you sunset inspired people can transport your day amid ranges of color to Premiere, Adobe’s video editing program. (You can take pictures of other things besides sunsets. Actually, please do) You simply capture or upload a picture, use pinpoints to capture the colors you want to focus on and use their template picture to decide how much or little you want for those colors to show through. And send it to Premiere with the click of a button. So so easy.
